Here are 10 things for the Christian relocating to remember. Check out the bible verses for a deeper experience! Trust in God
Who do you rely on? It’s easy to look inward for trust and control, especially during times of change. In this season, put your trust in God. Rely on Him as your source of strength and peace. Relinquish control and trust that He will lead and guide you through this transition.
Read Psalm 23 and Proverbs 3:5-6
Be Open to Alternative Plans
Let’s face it, moving rarely goes exactly as planned. Maybe paperwork gets delayed, or movers are completely booked. Be open to alternative plans and unexpected changes. Don’t sweat the small stuff, and keep moving forward.
Read Psalm 119:105
Pray Daily
Be in continuous prayer and invite God into every aspect of your relocation. No prayer is too small or too big.
Read 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Be Positive
It can be easy to fall into negativity, and while ranting may feel good in the moment, it does not further the kingdom of God or bring peace to yourself or others. As difficult as it may be, strive to remain positive through all the twists and turns surrounding your move.
Read Proverbs 17:22
Ask for Help
This can be a hard one. Asking for help doesn’t come easily to many people, but if you need to lean on your community, do so. True friends are willing to help where they are able. Don’t isolate yourself or risk burnout, reach out to those around you.
Read Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 and Galatians 6:2
See God’s Faithfulness in Everything
As you move through the relocation process, remember that every good and perfect gift comes from above. Give thanks to God in all circumstances and reflect on His faithfulness.
Read Psalm 103 and 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Don’t Check Out
You may feel tempted to disconnect from others during this season, but community with fellow believers is vital to your walk in faith. Connecting with friends and family should not stop just because you are moving. Cherish the time you have left with loved ones and thank God for those relationships.
Read Hebrews 10:24-25
Memorize Scripture
Take time to memorize Scripture. Difficult moments are inevitable during transitions, and having God’s Word close to your heart can draw you nearer to Him when you need it most.
Read Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Work Out and Eat Well
Don’t allow unhealthy habits to creep into your daily routine. Relocations often lead to fast food and irregular schedules that limit exercise. Make a plan to keep healthy options accessible and aim to stay active until your normal routine is restored.
Read 1 Corinthians 10:31
Be a Light for Jesus
Ultimately, use this move as an opportunity to be a light for Jesus. Show His love to everyone you encounter. Remember all that He has done for you, and in return, love others well.
